Top Vietnamese leader starts State visit to Cambodia

Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong arrives at Pochentong International Airport in Phnom Penh capital, Cambodia on Feb. 25

Trong was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace Kong Som Ol and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection at the airport.

The Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni hosted welcome ceremony for the top Vietnamese leader at the Royal Palace with the highest ritual for a head of state.

After the ceremony, the two leaders held talks at the Palace.

This is Trong’s first State visit to Cambodia since in his new position as the top leader of both Party and State of Viet Nam.
