Sau Hiệp định Thương mại hàng hóa ASEAN (ATIGA) và Nghị định 116/2017/NĐ-CP của Chính phủ quy định điều kiện sản xuất, lắp ráp, nhập khẩu và kinh doanh dịch vụ bảo hành, bảo dưỡng ôtô (Nghị định 116) có hiệu lực, lượng ôtô sản xuất, lắp ráp trong nước đang chiếm ưu thế so với ôtô nhập khẩu.
