At the event, Deputy Minister of Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh thanked the Defense Ministries of ASEAN member states and ASEAN+ countries for coordinating with and supporting Vietnam during the fight against Covid-19.

He stressed the ASEAN military medicine exercise was the coordination among Defense Ministries of ASEAN countries to fight against the pandemic and cope with non-traditional security challenges for the benefit of all participating countries.

As the Chair of ASEAN in 2020, Vietnam hopes that ASEAN+ countries will work with their ASEAN partners to overcome all difficulties and defeat the disease.

At the exercise, military medical personnel of ASEAN countries discussed and agreed on how to handle various simulated scenarios.
